The Dark Knight Rises Airs on HBO

Quite an amazing flick… one absolutely loved by the die-hard Batman fans. And what’s even more amazing is that it's soon coming on HBO. So, tune in to HBO on 14th September at 9pm.

Movie of the Decade: The Dark Knight Rises

Last year one movie that really made some news was ‘The Dark Knight Rises’. I’m sure all the English movie fans were excited about it. One big reason was the fact that this one is the last in ‘The Dark Knight’ series.

And as I’ve seen the movie, I can say it was no less than a treat. Take my words! Those who haven’t seen the movie, I’ll just give you a little insight. This movie is about Gotham City’s superhero, Batman. And in this particular flick, they have shown the return of Batman after a hiatus of eight years. Interestingly, this also happens to be the end of Batman. Yes, that’s pretty much what the tagline says- ‘Legend Ends’.

Even if you’re not much of a Batman fan, you ought to watch it for the love of action. The star cast too is amazing. From Christian Bale to Anne Hathaway to Morgan Freeman, this movie has it all. And don’t make me start on the Director. Christopher Nolan is the director of this famous trilogy. He’s already left quite a mark on us through his famous mystery flick, ‘Inception’. I’m sure many would have watched this amazing mystery flick. I think now I’ve given you enough reasons why you should not miss this flick.

Moreover, to prove my point, this movie was nominated for ‘Favourite Movie of The Year’ in People’s Choice Awards and it also won AFI Award for ‘Movie of the Year’. Must watch it is! It is a legendary piece of work and there’s no denying this fact. You’ll be surprised, thrilled and entertained. Trust me!

So, do my points make you interested enough to hire a DVD and watch this flick? Well, an easy route is here for you. This action movie is soon coming on HBO. Oh yes, this English movie channel is going to telecast ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ this month under ‘Movie of the Decade’. Isn’t it cool? Actually, I think it is very cool. I can’t wait for it. Really!

So, if you are interested, don’t forget to tune in to HBO India on 14^th September at 9pm. And the best thing is it’s a Saturday. Yay! Watch the movie on Saturday without worrying about waking up early the next morning. I’m so up for it. Are you?

Man on a Ledge: Mega Action Movie

You can only push an innocent man so far.

Man on a Ledge is an action flick that thrills the hell out of you. Its biggest USP is the presence of some amazing actors like Sam Worthington etc. And the happy news is it's soon coming on HBO India.

With this tagline, the movie Man on a Ledge does thrill the hell out of you. Those of you, who are fond of action, thriller and suspense in a movie, will definitely find it a treat. Really! I watched this flick during its period of release back in 2012. As a movie buff and die-hard action lover, I may say that it has every spice that you need in a movie. And that makes it its USP. Breathtaking action, amazing plot and crime sequence- Man on a Ledge is all about it. Amazing, huh!

If this did sound like just another movie plot, then I must start counting the star-cast that’s in the movie. While Sam Worthington is famous for his role for Jake Sully in Avatar, Jamie Bell is best known for The Adventures of  Tin Tin. Also, it has actors like Mandy Gonzalez and Genesis Rodriguez. Outstanding, huh!? If nothing else, the other reason to watch this flick is the amazing direction skills of Asger Leth. Hell, right! I remember this documentary called Ghosts of Cite Soleil directed by Leth. And nothing but ‘superb’ is the word for it. Take my word! And as I got to know that ‘Man On a Ledge’ is directed by this director, I couldn’t stop myself from booking my ticket.

And to my surprise, it’s soon going to premier on the Indian television. Yeah, right! And guess where it is going to be telecasted. It’s none other than HBO India. Yipppe! Under ‘HBO Mega Action Movie’, they are going to premier it on 10th August at 9pm. Fantastic, huh!? I know! I’m more than thrilled.

This action movie got some of the amazing nominations like Genesis Rodriguez for Favourite Movie Actress-Supporting Role in ALMA Award. Quite a feat! Isn’t it!? I’m a great fan of action movies and I’m more than happy that HBO India is going to telecast it way too soon. Whoa! This much that this English Movie Channel has become my recent favourite! And I’m quite serious about it.

If you are still unsure about watching it, then just have a look at the trailer and you will get an idea what you are getting yourself into. And believe me, when I say you will simply love it. Because indeed-You can only push an innocent man so far. You know what I mean! Of course, you don’t. You have to watch the trailer to know what I mean.

So, remember the date, venue and time: 10th August, HBO India at 9pm…and reach on time. And I am sure you’ll enjoy the show. Well, you will….I know.

HBO Blockbuster of the Month: "Rock of Ages"

This month, Blockbuster of the month is Rock of Ages. The movie is amazingly wonderful and that takes you to the Rock music world.

When it comes to Rock music, I doubt anybody could be a bigger fan than me. My love for Rock music goes back to early 90’s and since then I’ve been hooked to the likes of Madonna, Guns N Roses, Bryan Adams, etc. So, how could I miss a movie like the ‘Rock of Ages’. It released last year and was one hell of a movie. An english drama movie about two friends and their musical journey.

Adam Shankman really did show his directrorial abilities. Amazing visualization and picturisation! One thing that really amazed me, was the sense of timing. The humour was all over the place and it made me go ‘Whoa’. I’m sure it will have the same effect on you guys too. More than that it was sheer bliss to watch Tom Cruise (Stacee Jaxx) in a Rockstar avatar. In specific, his 80’s inspired wardrobe was really amusing. If you are a Rock music fan, then mark my words, it is a must watch for you!, And what’s more fascinating is the fact that it’s going to be premiered on HBO India, a premier hollywood movie Channel as ‘Blockbuster of the Month’ on Saturday, 27th July at 9pm. How cool is that!? I’m so very excited to watch it again. And I think, so should be you. THAT perhaps is how good the movie is, Out of all the other reasons, one reason that particularly stood out for me was the vast and amazing number of songs from Rock legends like Def Leppard, Journey, Scorpions, Poison, Foreigner, Guns N' Roses, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Bon Jovi, David Lee Roth, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, and others. And nowhere will you find these songs to be a misfit. The songs are so aptly infused in the movie that it feels as if they were specifically sung for that particular scene. Classic rock, I tell you.

Other than Tom Cruise, there are actors like Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Åkerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston and Alec Baldwin. Tom Cruise is an absolute bliss to watch… no doubts. Apart from him, I found the role of Catherine Zeta Jones quite amazing. It is simply incredible to see her transformation. She is portrayed as somebody who apparently isn’t a Rock music lover but in retrospect she was a Stacee Jaxx aka Tom Cruise fan herself. The best part was how she comes back to her senses and goes all gaga over Jaxx, all over again. Such a delight! Really!

So, this July you know what to look forward to. And I’m sure as hell, you won’t be disappointed. The movies has each and every aspect that makes it a must watch. Just hold onto the excitement and wait for the television premiere of ‘Rock of Ages’.

HBO Mega Action Movie of the Month: "Hunger Games"

This month, HBO India is coming up with another sci-fi action thriller & that's 'The Hunger Games'. The movie released last year and this year it's coming on 13th July. Yay!

I’ve always had this thing for the sci-fi flicks. And this love of mine has only grown fonder over the years. So, when I heard that ‘The Hunger Games’ is soon going to get premiered, I was excited beyond limits. Now how amazing is it this!? Last year, they release the movie and this year I can watch it on TV. Yipppeeee! Thanks a lot HBO India! I really can’t thank you enough. 13th July, 9pm it is!

This English actione movie is based on a game where the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. And eEach year two representatives are chosen at random each year from each district and they go for a televised fight. And iIn order to win itthe fight, one has to kill ones his opponent. Intense, huh? Well, the tagline does all the justice here. ‘May the Odds be Ever in your Favor’… it better be! In one such one event Katniss Everdeen aka Jennifer Lawrence takes her sister’s place and from there, the Hunger Games begin.

Gary Ross, the director of this English movie, has no doubt undoubtedly done a great job in turning this Suzanne Collins written novel into a movie. And trust me, you can actually see the efforts. The From acting, writing and to direction,- everything is in its place. Jennifer Lawrence as the main lead really has an enchanting effect. Thank Goodness oOut of a lot of those thirty ladies who went for the auditioned, she won. She is indeed the best for this role was the best fit. Proof: And bagging She won the Best Actress Oscar award this year for The Hunger Games, is a testimony enough. I’m sure that’s more for a proof.

Other than Lawrence, the character that really affected appealed to me is Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. He has been presented as the baker’s son who hails from one of the districts and he is damn good with words. And that This plays the trick on his character. All in all, it’s ‘Certified Fresh’. The drama, the fiction and the plot take you to the an imaginary world that converts the impassive deed into an impassioned scene.

More than that, the wardrobeattire- Oh My God! It’s just too fictionary and goes back to the early era. Actually the whole plot dates back to entire plot is established in the early era. I think that’s the beauty of such movies. Totally a must watch, I tell you. Those of you who haven’t watched this movie, it’s recommended to that you watch it before its Part II the second part releases. And what better than HBO India to watch it on. TV. The comfort of TV, in the luxury of home. Less than a couple of It’s just a matter of few days and then you can enjoy this amazing flick on your television.

Coming 13th, 9pm on HBO India, the ultimate English movie channel- Mark your calendar and be ready to have a Happy Saturday! Yay!
