HBO Blockbuster of the Month: "Rock of Ages"

This month, Blockbuster of the month is Rock of Ages. The movie is amazingly wonderful and that takes you to the Rock music world.

When it comes to Rock music, I doubt anybody could be a bigger fan than me. My love for Rock music goes back to early 90’s and since then I’ve been hooked to the likes of Madonna, Guns N Roses, Bryan Adams, etc. So, how could I miss a movie like the ‘Rock of Ages’. It released last year and was one hell of a movie. An english drama movie about two friends and their musical journey.

Adam Shankman really did show his directrorial abilities. Amazing visualization and picturisation! One thing that really amazed me, was the sense of timing. The humour was all over the place and it made me go ‘Whoa’. I’m sure it will have the same effect on you guys too. More than that it was sheer bliss to watch Tom Cruise (Stacee Jaxx) in a Rockstar avatar. In specific, his 80’s inspired wardrobe was really amusing. If you are a Rock music fan, then mark my words, it is a must watch for you!, And what’s more fascinating is the fact that it’s going to be premiered on HBO India, a premier hollywood movie Channel as ‘Blockbuster of the Month’ on Saturday, 27th July at 9pm. How cool is that!? I’m so very excited to watch it again. And I think, so should be you. THAT perhaps is how good the movie is, Out of all the other reasons, one reason that particularly stood out for me was the vast and amazing number of songs from Rock legends like Def Leppard, Journey, Scorpions, Poison, Foreigner, Guns N' Roses, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Bon Jovi, David Lee Roth, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, and others. And nowhere will you find these songs to be a misfit. The songs are so aptly infused in the movie that it feels as if they were specifically sung for that particular scene. Classic rock, I tell you.

Other than Tom Cruise, there are actors like Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Åkerman, Mary J. Blige, Bryan Cranston and Alec Baldwin. Tom Cruise is an absolute bliss to watch… no doubts. Apart from him, I found the role of Catherine Zeta Jones quite amazing. It is simply incredible to see her transformation. She is portrayed as somebody who apparently isn’t a Rock music lover but in retrospect she was a Stacee Jaxx aka Tom Cruise fan herself. The best part was how she comes back to her senses and goes all gaga over Jaxx, all over again. Such a delight! Really!

So, this July you know what to look forward to. And I’m sure as hell, you won’t be disappointed. The movies has each and every aspect that makes it a must watch. Just hold onto the excitement and wait for the television premiere of ‘Rock of Ages’.

HBO Mega Action Movie of the Month: "Hunger Games"

This month, HBO India is coming up with another sci-fi action thriller & that's 'The Hunger Games'. The movie released last year and this year it's coming on 13th July. Yay!

I’ve always had this thing for the sci-fi flicks. And this love of mine has only grown fonder over the years. So, when I heard that ‘The Hunger Games’ is soon going to get premiered, I was excited beyond limits. Now how amazing is it this!? Last year, they release the movie and this year I can watch it on TV. Yipppeeee! Thanks a lot HBO India! I really can’t thank you enough. 13th July, 9pm it is!

This English actione movie is based on a game where the totalitarian nation of Panem is divided between 12 districts and the Capitol. And eEach year two representatives are chosen at random each year from each district and they go for a televised fight. And iIn order to win itthe fight, one has to kill ones his opponent. Intense, huh? Well, the tagline does all the justice here. ‘May the Odds be Ever in your Favor’… it better be! In one such one event Katniss Everdeen aka Jennifer Lawrence takes her sister’s place and from there, the Hunger Games begin.

Gary Ross, the director of this English movie, has no doubt undoubtedly done a great job in turning this Suzanne Collins written novel into a movie. And trust me, you can actually see the efforts. The From acting, writing and to direction,- everything is in its place. Jennifer Lawrence as the main lead really has an enchanting effect. Thank Goodness oOut of a lot of those thirty ladies who went for the auditioned, she won. She is indeed the best for this role was the best fit. Proof: And bagging She won the Best Actress Oscar award this year for The Hunger Games, is a testimony enough. I’m sure that’s more for a proof.

Other than Lawrence, the character that really affected appealed to me is Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. He has been presented as the baker’s son who hails from one of the districts and he is damn good with words. And that This plays the trick on his character. All in all, it’s ‘Certified Fresh’. The drama, the fiction and the plot take you to the an imaginary world that converts the impassive deed into an impassioned scene.

More than that, the wardrobeattire- Oh My God! It’s just too fictionary and goes back to the early era. Actually the whole plot dates back to entire plot is established in the early era. I think that’s the beauty of such movies. Totally a must watch, I tell you. Those of you who haven’t watched this movie, it’s recommended to that you watch it before its Part II the second part releases. And what better than HBO India to watch it on. TV. The comfort of TV, in the luxury of home. Less than a couple of It’s just a matter of few days and then you can enjoy this amazing flick on your television.

HBO Hits is my channel of choice

So, the word has already been out for a while now. HBO India for the first time has launched two ad free channels which are HBO Defined and HBO Hits. And as I’m totally stuck with this channel, I’m going to share my love with you guys… LOVE FOR THIS CHANNEL!
 
But first of all I want to ask all of you- who loves ads!? I’m sure nobody would raise his/her arm here. I mean… why would anybody love ads!? What we love is break-free movies! And HBO India is the genie in action here. Long sought wish granted over here with break free movie channel i.e. HBO Hits. How cool is that!

I know the idea of an ad free channel excites us way too much. But what excites me more is the ultimate movies that they show. And not to forget the Bollywood flicks that they show time and again. An ultimate fun, it is! Talking about the list of english movies, I can’t really miss all the ultimate premeieres. This time around, they premiered movies like ‘Freelancers’ and ‘Soldiers of Fortune’. Also, an exclusive HBO original series called ‘Banshee’. Definitely very cool choice of movies/ series, I tell you. My personal favourite is ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Entourage’. Currently, they are showing their back to back episodes on Saturday and Sunday at 1pm, respectively.

While ad free is itself one hell of a thing that makes us subscribe this channel, the thing that you get the dual audio movies here is again a delight in itself. Imagine watching movies like ‘Green Lantern’ and especially ‘Kung Fu Panda’ in Hindi! Po speaking those hilarious dialogues in Hindi! OMG, you have no idea how cute he looks. Seems like big fun to me!

Literally! Movie watching experience getting more and more fabulous. What else do we want!? I know! HD movie channel. And you get that right here. I’m so glad that we are finally there. Finally, that one channel which is totally ad free and which is going to define our english movies watching experience like anything.

AD free Movies Channel , HBO original series, dual language property and HD feature. All in all, a perfect movie watching experience. And that we are going to enjoy it here.
